Background:

Brien started in the trucking and freight service business in 1979. His first responsibility was to set up and run a trucking company terminal for Quinn Freight Lines. He successfully ran that terminal in West Lebanon, NH and then moved into sales and operations (surface transportation) for several years thereafter. In these years, he worked every aspect of the business, from sales, to operations. These years afforded him the opportunity to learn not only flatbed trucking and van freight, but also specialized haulage. Freight shipping on flats, stepdecks, lowboys, and every conceivable variation of these trailers, became an everyday experience for Brien.

In 1991, Brien amalgamated all of his experience and decided to start Standard Transportation. He sincerely believed that personalized attention was beginning to slip away from the freight shipping business. Voice mails, fax machines, e-mail, and other impersonal communications were exploding upon the scene. Brien dedicated himself to being live, not memorex. It did not matter to him if it was 7am Eastern Standard Time, or 8 pm, west coast time, he would always take the call. In fact, calls would come in at 2am from drivers seeking directions, and he would tirelessly live up to his obligations.

Fast forward to 2003. Standard Transportation has been operating its surface transportation successfully for over 12 years as an independent freight brokerage and agency for Landstar, Greentree Transportation and Cardinal Transportation. Standard now serves all 48 states, Canada, Mexico and other foreign ports of call. Brien brings over 24 years of experience in trucking freight transportation to his desk. Standard Transportation is a Transportation Consultant for Babcock Borsig Power, Engineers, Fabricators, and Constructors for the power industry. Standard has recently expanded its service to export and import around the world. Standard Transportation is registered with the Secretary of State in Connecticut as a LLC.
